Parson bird (Zool.), a New Zealand bird ({Prosthemadera
Nov[ae]seelandi[ae]}) remarkable for its powers of mimicry
and its ability to articulate words. Its color is glossy

on each side of the throat. It is often kept as a cage
bird.
